About Edward
Edward Q. Costa is a partner with Samuels Miller. He was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois and graduated from St. Louis University with a B.A. in Political Science in 1980. He earned his Juris Doctor degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1983. After practicing law in Springfield and living for a short time in Los Angeles, California, he has resided in Decatur, Illinois and been with the firm since 1988.
Mr. Costa’s law practice is concentrated in the civil and commercial litigation area where he handles, among other claims, personal injury, contract, foreclosure, bankruptcy and creditors rights cases.
Mr. Costa is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and has been admitted to the U. S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of Illinois and the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Mr. Costa is presently a Trustee on the Decatur Library Board. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Community Health Improvement Center and a former Trustee at the Sanitary District of Decatur.
